Suki Waterhouse signs to Sub Pop, will release debut album in 2022
British actor and musician Suki Waterhouse has signed to Sub Pop, who will release her debut album next year, and has shared new tracks "Moves" and "My Mind" to accompany the announcement.
"Moves" and "My Mind" are the first new tracks from Waterhouse since 2019's "Johanna", and arrive alongside news of her signing to Sub Pop.
Waterhouse's "Moves", executive produced by Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter Brad Cook (Bon Iver, War On Drugs, Snail Mail, Waxahatchee), is the first taster of her debut full-length due out in 2022, while "My Mind" is a companion track.
On "Moves", Waterhouse explains, ""Moves" is a song I first started writing one night on the couch, picking up the guitar and seeing what came out. It was a moment where I felt the urge to both sever a bond of connection with somebody and yet at the same time pursue and put my trust back in love."
Sub Pop CEO Megan Jasper said of the label's new signing, "Suki's songs are smart, radiant, and incredibly engaging, much like her personality. We knew the minute we heard them that they were important and needed to be out in the world. Sub Pop is over the moon to be working with her!"
