Loyal Spotify listeners were lucky to join grime's national treasure Stormzy aboard #merkyairways in a day trip to celebrate his 25th birthday.
Following the group trip to Thorpe Park back in 2016, British grime legend Stormzy took fanclub loyalty to the next stage by inviting a hundred of his biggest listeners, artists and friends aboard a private charter flight to Menorca, Spain, for a day pool party.
Organised by Spotify, who have notably been developing their experiential marketing campaigns recently by rewarding artists' top listeners with intimate meet and greets and exclusive performances, selected fans met early at Stansted Airport to board a flight to Menorca branded #merkyairways.
The selected group were given a beach towel and suncream, both branded with #merky.
Once boarded, fans and celebration-goers were treated to a special announcement from Stormzy in the cockpit.
25th birthday - to God be the glory, thank you @spotify and my incredible #Merky team for the best birthday bash I could ask for. And to my supporters, friends and family that jumped on the plane to Spain today it has been an absolute fucking movie of a time so love you all. Here’s to more life and more music. cc: @ashleyverse
Upon landing in Menorca, guests were escorted to a luxury villa overlooking the island's plush Balearic greenery.
Other guests included Krept & Konan, Ray BLK, Not3s, Avelino, Lethal Bizzle, AJ Tracey and Big Shaq, all of whom performed to the man of the hour and fans besides the wide-stretched pool and free bar.
