Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar in Brighton will close at the end of the year
Brighton's Sticky Mike's Frog Bar will be closing its doors after their forthcoming New Year's Eve party.
In a statement posted to their Facebook page, Sticky Mike's Frog Bar explains, "We have tried all options to keep going but there are far too many issues that cannot be resolved to make carrying on viable."
They add, "Running a GMV [Grassroots Music Venue] is tough but we’ve had a blast over the last seven years putting on some amazing shows and parties. Breaking moulds and giving artists the chance to go on to bigger things which has always been our mission from day one. Thankfully we still have The Hope & Ruin to make even better and East Street Tap will be changing in 2019 to host more live shows."
Sticky Mike's Frog Bar has been a major staple of Brighton's music scene, having hosted several The Great Escape festival stages over the years.
Bands such as Her's, Bloody Knees, CHILDCARE, Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert, 808INK and more are still yet to perform before their final night on 31 December 2018.
