Stephen Malkmus is set to release a live recording of him covering an entire Can album for this year’s Record Store Day.
The Pavement frontman performed Can’s 1972 album Ege Bamyasi in full in Cologne late last year, and now it’s being released for posterity.
The LP will be pressed by Matador (in the U.S) and Domino (in the UK) as a limited-edition vinyl.
It was also announced yesterday that Jack White will be Record Store Day’s ‘Ambassador’ for 2013, following on from Iggy Pop and Ozzy Osbourne.
Record Store Day 2013 is on Saturday 20 April.
