Spinning Coin release new single "Ghosting"
Spinning Coin have shared "Ghosting", the second single to be lifted from their sophomore LP Hyacinth.
"Ghosting" arrives after lead single "Feel You More Than World Right Now" that landed in November 2019.
The new song is written by vocalist and guitarist Sean Armstrong, who says of the single, "It was written in the small hours of a morning in my cockroach-infested flat in Glasgow, on the day that I was to move out. I hadn't packed any of my things but stayed up all night sitting on the floor screaming into a microphone, drinking instant coffee. In the late am when my friends came to help me move, I still hadn't put anything into boxes or slept, and was faint and dehydrated; but had written the first version of this song."
Hyacinth will follow on from the group's 2017 debut album Permo, and marks the first LP since Cal Donnelly's departure from the group, and the first since new addition Rachel Taylor joined the band.
Vocalist and guitarist Jack Mellin says the new songs on Hyacinth "are about the need for love in an often very unloving world. Trying to find a balance of some kind between feelings of apathy, negativity, detachment and action, positivity and oneness."
The new album was recorded with Peter Deimel at Black Box Studios in France over a few days during their summer tour.
