Songkick reveal the winner of their Hardest Working Band Of 2014 award
Manchester indie-rock foursome The 1975 have been crowned winners of Songkick's Hardest Working Band Of 2014 award.
According to Songkick's global concert data (crunched through a few rigourous doohickeys), the "Sex" crooneurs trvalled 249724km: "venue to venue, [it] would take them two-thirds of the way to the moon. Which is little surprise, given they averaged a gig every 1.8 days."
The 1975 performed a total of 195 gigs in 29 different countries to travel that distance, which is also the highest number since Songkick began recording data in 2010.
Speaking about the win, the band said:"touring this past year has been a really humbling experience. Our album was pretty much the story of the last decade of our lives, to see so many people around the world connecting with it has been incredible. We are very proud of our fans, they really understand what we are doing and the shows are an extension of that feeling.”
