Solange cancels Beacons Festival appearance as son starts school
Solange may have just won the ‘Best Mom’ award as well as being the music world’s coolest sister, announcing that she has been forced to cancel her upcoming appearance at this year’s Beacons Festival as it coincides with her son starting studying at a new school.
“I’m very sorry to announce the cancellation of Beacons,” the R&B starlet says in a statement released online. “My son will be starting a new school next year which unexpectedly begins a few weeks earlier than his previous one… it’s imperative that I am there his first week to transition him. I really hope that you understand and I promise I’ll be back in your area soon enough to make up for it.”
This year’s Beacons Festival runs in Skipton from 16-18 August. British fans will still be able to catch Solange at the London leg of The xx’s Night + Day festival later this month, however.
