Solange cancels all European festival appearances due to “family priorities”
Having recently pulled out of this year’s Beacons Festival after finding out it coincided with her son’s first week at a new school, Solange has decided it right to put family first again – cancelling all her upcoming European festival appearances this summer.
The R&B singer had been scheduled to play the likes of Oya Festival in Norway, Flow Flow in Finland, Poland’s Off Festival, Way Out West in Sweden, and more, but now has decided to scrap all of these altogether.
In a statement released to Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival, the musician cited moving to a new city, working on her album and, again, her son’s new school as reasons for the cancellations.
The full statement reads as beneath:
“I am completely devastated to announce that I will be canceling my international festival dates for the Summer. I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was…but between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/ recording my new record…I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family. I am so so sooooo sorry if Ive disappointed…… and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!”
Solange will no longer be performing at the following festivals:
Off Festival, Poland
Oya Festival, Norway
Smukfest, Denmark
Flow, Finland
Sudoeste, Portugal
Way Out West, Sweden
Pukkelpop, Belgium
