Having taken a short hiatus as a band whilst front man Jón Þór ”Jonsi” Birgisson took some time out to work on his solo project, Sigur Rós have revealed their plans to release a new record next spring. Although the band recently released live album and film Inni, this will be their first full-length studio effort since 2008’s Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust.
Talking to The Wall Street Journal Sigur Rós said the new album sounds “introverted,” “floaty and minimal,” and “ambient.”
