Sigur Rós issue warning ahead of Boiler Room DJ set
News broke yesterday of Icelandic ambient trio Sigur Rós’ upcoming DJ set this evening at Boiler Room Berlin. With the booking met with as much bafflement as excitement, the threepiece have issued a disclaimer to any electronic music aficionados expecting expertise at the craft.
“No-one involved lays claim to be able to mix, even remotely,” said the band in a statement released online. “This is how Sigur Ros get down and unwind in the dressing room and on the tour bus after a show.”
The group, who recently released new album Kveikur, will top a bill also consisting of The Orb’s Thomas Fehlmann tonight (26 June). The entire show will be broadcast live on the Boiler Room website from 8pm-12am CET. More info can be found here.
