Norwegian popstar Sigrid discusses her musical memories for the new End The Silence campaign.

Sigrid joins the likes of Ed Sheeran, Emile Sandé, Sir Elton John, and Mark Ronson in talking about cherished musical memories and important childhood songs. In the video below Sigrid discusses Neil Young's "Give Me Strength".

"I remember I was in our living room... and I found this songsheet, and it was all like Neil Young songs because my dad is a huuuge fan of Neil Young (my mum is a big fan as well)," says Sigrid. "This is just when I'd learned to play guitar. I found 'Give Me Strength' and I fell in love with the song. I learned it and then I put it over to the piano and my dad came over and was like 'this is really, really nice'!"

"When I learned the song," Sigrid continues, "it kind of turned into a family thing. After that, we started to sing this together every time we're home for Christmas with my sister, my brother, my mum, and my dad..."

The End The Silence campaign is in aid of Hope And Homes For Children. The aim is to create the "world’s largest online childhood musical memory collection" as well as "raise £1.5m for children deprived of love, family, and music in orphanages".

Donations to the campaign before 27 December will be matched by the UK Government as part of their UK Aid Match scheme.
