Sia's "Big Girls Cry" gets a rework from up-and-coming producer Gilligan Moss [Premiere]
Sia's "Big Girls Cry" been remixed by Gilligan Moss, and you can check it out exclusively on Best Fit.
This is the latest in a string of remixes of Sia's music from burgeoning producers - Clams Casino, Evian Christ and Blood Diamonds have all already had a hand at massive single "Elastic Heart".
Moss, who wowed critics across the nation last year with "Choreograph", a mesmerising piece of experimental electro-pop seemingly from the ether, has been silent for many moons, but it seems like now he's gearing up to make a return. His edit of "Big Girls Cry" is no less emotional than the original, but with his trademark leftfield hand, he sculpts the sounds into something more sinister, more unpredictable. Sia's verses are now monotone against a backdrop of pitched percussion and synths plod deliberately like a sumo wrestler posturing for the bout of a lifetime. The chorus, chopped apart and screwed back together like a jury-rigged automaton, jerks and pumps at odd moments, creating a deliciously random outburst.
"Big Girls Cry" features on Sia's latest LP, 1000 Forms Of Fear. It's out now on RCA.
