Following on from last year’s breakthrough album Tramp, Sharon Van Etten has shared a song she calls “a musical interpretation” of the titular friend’s painting.
The psychedelically-tinged song, previously available on a ESOPUS Magazine’s compilation album from Spring 2010, is a sparse arrangement, even with the song’s “fuller” second half. The track, like Van Etten’s best, is a showcase for her beautifully (slightly-) broken vocals.
