Section Boyz, WSTRN, and Nao on BBC Radio 1Xtra's Hot For 2016 list

The names on the list, who are tipped for big things this year, are voted by 1Xtra's DJs and production staff.

The full list of artists on Hot For 2016 are: AKA, Bryson Tiller, Bugzy Malone, Izzy Bizu, J Hus, Kehlani, Kiko Bun, Kojey Radical, Mabel, Nao, Samm Henshaw, Section Boyz, Vershon, WSTRN, and Yungen.

WSTRN and Nao were also named on the BBC Sound Of 2016 shortlist, coming fifth and third respectively.

Speaking about the list, the station's Mistajam says:

“Since its inception, the BBC Radio 1Xtra Hot For list has not only predicted those artists that would be big on the underground but also those scenes, trends and artists that will completely dominate popular culture over the next 12 months, making it THE barometer music fans need to tell them the artists that will own 2016!

"It’s also a real chance to celebrate the support & nurturing that only BBC Radio 1Xtra can give to up and coming niche artists to allow them to develop themselves into the mainstream influencing international stars so many previous Hot For artists have become.”
