Sean 'Diddy' Combs launches new music channel with 'social layers'
Rapper/producer, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs claims his upcoming music TV channel, Revolt will ”will harness the power of social media.”
Speaking at the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity yesterday, Diddy, the CEO of Bad Boy Worldwide Entertain Group, said he wants to improve and help marketing partnerships for new artists through the use of social media. He also claims that what helped make ‘Revolt’ possible was MTV’s decision to stop playing music seven years ago.
“If you look at Twitter, top shows in the U.S. and globally are music-related,” Diddy said. “That’s a lot of power.” According to the Combs, ‘Revolt’ will speak the language of young music fans everywhere and claims “cool is priceless”.
