Scottish Album of the Year Long List Announced
The first ever Scottish Album of the Year Award has unveiled its long list of nominations! The award, founded by the Scottish Music Industry Association and Creative Scotland aims to celebrate and promote Scottish albums created by Scottish artists.
One hundred nominators, including The Line of Best Fit, were tasked with selecting their favourite Scottish albums to have been released in 2011, with the selections being collated into the following list. From this list, the public and a panel of ten judges (including our very own Features ed. Francine Gorman) will select a short list of 10 artists, from which the judges will select a winning album.
The winner of the award will be announced at a ceremony on 19 June in Glasgow, where they’ll be presented with the rather fine prize of £20,000, with each of the nine runners up receiving £1,000 each.
So without further ado, the long list selection is as follows…
