Courtney Barnett, Mac DeMarco, Sleaford Mods, and more announced for Roskilde 2016
With the 2015 festival season barely a hazy memory, Roskilde Festival has announced the first ten acts to perform next year.
Notable names selected for the 46th edition of the legendary music festival; which takes place just outside of the beautiful capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, include Mac DeMarco, Courtney Barnett and Action Bronson.
Head of Programme Anders Wahrén invited potential festival attendees for their musical suggestions, explaining: "The festival is roughly nine months away, but we’re already busy putting together a line-up that’s both stylistically diverse and relevant. These qualities are very important to us and reflected by our announcements today that represent metal, rap, country, pop and much more. This October we invite our audience to send us their music wishes, which we will collect and use as both inspiration and knowhow in the booking process over the course of the next year."
The ten confirmed acts are: Action Bronson, Mac Demarco, Courtney Barnett, Cattle Decapitation, Colin Stetson & Sarah Neufeld, Ho99o9, Kuedo, Qwanqwa, Sleaford Mods and Sturgill Simpson.
But don't panic if none of these acts tantalises your cochlea: a further 165 acts will be named between now and April 2016.
Tickets for Roskilde Festival, which takes place between 25 June and 2 July, go on sale in November.
