Probably unheard of outside her native Romania, diva extraordinaire Loredana has recently been thrown into the hands of fellow Romanian Vlad Stoian – the founder of the Warmer Climes blog – for a mammouth remix orgy of the highest order. Her latest single ‘Rain Rain’ has been re-worked in the region of 50 times by various bands and production outfits. Most notably; Henning Fürst from Gothenburg pop royalty The Tough Alliance (available now via Pitchfork) and Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy whose brand new Dan Lissvik produced single was revealed here yesterday.
A highlight from the project is the remix produced by Kalle J, one half of Swedish duo Karl x Johan. Here, Kalle J transforms the original into a six minute odyssey of dark synths and pulsating house rhythms that eventually explode into a technicolor downpour. ‘Rain Rain’ is due for release sometime this month, keep your eyes peeled on Warmer Climes for more info.
A blogger that seems to exist on this planet only for the love of music and what it does to his soul, he’s one of the more interesting/passionate/scary forces within the music blogosphere. Here’s what he has to say on the project: “The best artists I know, creating an inspirational galaxy of new sounds. I hope you enjoy my idea as much as I do. It is a huge experiment, all for your pleasure – no money or commercial interests involved. All for the love of magic sounds”.
