RM Hubbert wins Scottish Album of the Year Award 2013
Paisley-born guitarist and singer, RM Hubbert has been crowned 2013′s recipient of the Scottish Album of the Year award.
The musician was awarded the accolade at a ceremony in Glasgow last night, beating the likes of Django Django, The Twilight Sad and more.
Hubbert won the £20,000 prize for his second record Thirteen Lost & Found, which came out on Chemikal Underground in January 2012.
John Williamson, chair of the judging panel, said of the choice: ”In the view of the judges, RM Hubbert’s album was the one that encapsulated and engaged the most.” Meanwhile, Hubbert himself said: ”I am shocked and delighted at winning. I never expected it. It is testament to all my collaborators that we won.”
