Richard Hell narrates documentary about New York music scene

Dazed have teamed up with All Saints for a new documentary series called New Music Cities, focusing on local scenes from around the world.
The first episode features New York City and is narrated by legendary punk musician Richard Hell. “You can come to New York to be offensive or to be defiant,” Hell says. “The Velvet Underground drove people out of their concerts. They never had a hit record. The value was making interesting art and not becoming popular.”
The episode features performances from Widowspeak, seventh grade heavy metal trio Unlocking the Truth and others. Watch below:
