Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood composing music for the Australian Chamber Orchestra
Radiohead guitarist, Jonny Greenwood has been commissioned to compose a musical piece for the Australian Chamber Orchestra in Sydney.
Having recently provided the scores for Paul Thomas Anderson films There Will Be Blood and The Master, Greenwood has since been working with the orchestra on a composition called “Water” following his band’s tour of the country last year.
“I’m so used to closely recorded sounds, it’s always a jolt to realise that the ‘in the room’ sound of an orchestra is a different animal from a recording,” the musician said of the project. “The space in Indian classical music and the textures were a big influence on the commission.”
The completed work will premiere in Australia during 2014.
