Radiohead add two rare singles to streaming services

14 November 2016, 10:41 | Written by Laurence Day

Radiohead have shared two 2009 singles on streaming services - "Harry Patch (In Memory Of)" and "These Are My Twisted Words".

The first track, "Harry Patch (In Memory Of)", has been uncovered to coincide with Armistice Day. It was originally released in 2009 to honour Harry Patch, the last surviving combat soldier of the First World War, with proceeds from sales of the track being donated to The Royal British Legion. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke explained that the track was inspired by a 2005 interview with Patch: "the way he talked about war had a profound effect on me."

The second 'new' track is "These Are My Twisted Words", which was leaked in 2009. No one really knows who put it up on Torrent sites, but some reckon it was Radiohead themselves.

These singles follow In Rainbows Disk 2, a collection of bonus In Rainbows-era tracks added to streaming services last month.

Radiohead have a busy 2017 planned, with lots of arena dates and festival slots booked. Find out more.
