Radio 1's new music champion, Phil Taggart, has announced his own monthly club night: 'Slacker'.
The inaugral Slacker night takes place on Halloween (31 October) at The Victoria, Dalston, and features performances from Rat Boy and Big Narstie and Yonaka, plus DJ sets from Slaves, Black Masa and Taggart himself.
The second night (20 November) will feature live performances from The Japanese House and Nimmo, a band that Taggart's been championing for a while now. The night also features DJ sets from Oceáan and a secret special guest DJ.
Taggart has been booking and promoting bands since the age of 15, starting in his native Northern Ireland. He also runs his own record label Hometown Records.
