Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme hits out at Jay Z following disagreement at Made In America festival
Queens of the Stone Age recently played at Jay Z’s Made In America festival in Philadelphia last month, an experience that didn’t sit well with the band’s frontman Josh Homme.
Speaking to CBC Radio 2 recently, the singer revealed that the hip-hop star got security to search the bands, as well as their gear, before they made it to the site.
“That guy’s a kook, you know,” Josh Homme told the station. “He has his security frisking the bands on the way in. No one’s ever done that … You shouldn’t frisk my guys, you should fuck off.”
Homme also took offence to Jay offering him a bottle of champagne as a thank-you, before asking the band to be pictured with it for social media.
“I was like, ‘That’s not a gift– that’s a marketing tool.’ I destroyed it, ’cause I thought it was rude overall,” he said, later adding: ”People never say anything bad about Jay Z, do they?”
