Prince to release memoir The Beautiful Ones "next year"
Prince has confirmed that he's writing a memoir, and it's due to be released in 2017.
The Purple One's memoir will be titled The Beautiful Ones - named after a track on 1984 LP Purple Rain - and will chronicle his journey from his first memory to the moment he performed at the Super Bowl XLI halftime show in 2007.
The long-awaited book was announced during a "last-minute invitation-only performance at a Manhattan nightclub" reports The New York Times.
Prince reportedly said to the 300-strong audience: “The good people of Random House have made me an offer that I can’t refuse... you all still read books, right?”
The Beautiful Ones is being worked on with "my brother Dan [Piepenbring of the Paris Review]... he’s a good critic. That’s what I need. He’s not a yes man at all.”
It's due out via Spiegel & Grau, a Random House imprint, next year.
Last year Prince released a lot of music - including his HITNRUN Phase One and Phase Two records.
