Prince, Kanye West x Sia x Vic Mensa and Bill Murray rock SNL40
To celebrate turning 40, Saturday Night Live hosted a huge party special last night on NBC.
The show brought back legends from its history - Steve Martin, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Fred Armisen, Jimmy Fallon, Martin Short and Bill Murray to name a few. The latter actually reprised an old character, and sang a moving rendition of the Jaws theme tune.
Other guests included Taylor Swift, Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Miley Cyrus.
In terms of musical content, Cyrus covered Paul Simon, Kanye West was on hand to perform three tracks - "Jesus Walks", "Only One", and his new collab with Sia and Vic Mensa, "Wolves" - and Paul McCartney performed "Maybe I'm Amazed".
On top of all that, the afterparty was a rousing success. Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL performed, although they weren't scheduled to, after being peer-pressured by a chanting crowd. The result has been documented via a variety of Instagram accounts, and saw the band joined on stage for "Let's Go Crazy" by Haim, Jimmy Fallon and more.
