A trio of unheard electronic tracks featuring vocals from Elliott Smith have been posted online by musician Mike Doughty.
Doughty, the former frontman of Soul Coughing, paired up with Smith when the late singer-songwriter was working on the soundtrack for Good Will Hunting. He told Pitchfork that he didn’t want to just do a “rock collaboration”, with the results coming out electronic and almost hip-hop leaning.
The three songs are called “The Record”, “Dogs” and “Burn (Aah Fuck)”, with the former’s lyrics later being used on XO album track “Bottle Up and Explode”.
