Torches are a band about whom you will undoubtedly be hearing rather more in the coming months. The East London four-piece share a house, record in a windowless basement, and write pensive, brooding songs about growing up – and, in the case of ‘VTOO’, about flying bombs falling on Mile End Park.
Torches really come into their own live, having suddenly appeared in the last couple of months as a fully-formed, perfectly realised pop band. Catch them at Binnacle this weekend.
