The Dying Seconds seem like a pretty gloomy bunch. The video for the Aaron Dessner-approved band’s latest single, ‘Mora Minn’, involves an ever-expanding army of very unhappy looking people smashing drums in a dark basement. It doesn’t, dare we say it, look like a lot of fun.
The track, meanwhile, is a Jonathan Safron Foer-quoting dirge that begins wistfully before building slowly into a syncopated, bass-led conclusion. It’s quietly gripping stuff, and beautifully produced.
‘Mora Minn’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Glimmerers, which is due out early next year.
