[Premiere] The Leisure Society – This Phantom Life
Taken from their forthcoming sophomore album, Into The Murky Water, ‘This Phantom Life’ is the new single from Full Time Hobby eight-piece The Leisure Society.
Directed by Tom Haines, the video opens with crisp orchestration that floats in on a wave of horns, woodwind, strings…and a voice over from Spaced/Big Train actor Mark Heap. Appearing in what can only be described as a hippie robe, with long grey hair the comedian seems to be the leader of some spiritual retreat to which The Leisure Society provide the soundtrack. Swelling with a joyous, infectious harmony the song’s delicate percussion and earnest lyrics are perfectly complimented by this funny and beautifully filmed video.
Recorded in a Mock-Tudor house in Kent, the album from Ivor Novello nominated songwriter Nick Hemming and co will be released on 2 May ahead of their UK tour.
