Released yesterday via Glaswegian label Rock Action Records as a 7” picture disc, Errors new track ‘Magna Encarta’ now has a shiny new video to accompany it.
Slowly bubbling with layered synths, the track subtly builds as soaring strings and a snapping beat creep in. With a typically momentous rhythm in place, it’s not long before the song is a swirling, hazy cacophony of electronic post-rock noise. At just over the 6-minute mark the harmonies twist and turn almost as much as the video, fading from euphoric outburst to nostalgic swells.
The video itself, well it’s beautifully bizarre. Clips of everything from astronauts, rockets, space, chimps, hell even space chimps, explosions and the surface of what I can only assume is Mars, to night club raves and stock footage of wildlife are interjected with images of Cockerels. It’s like staring into the most surreal Hen House in the history of the planet.
