[Premier] Acid House Kings – Would You Say Stop
Responsible for some of the catchiest melodies of 2011 so far contained within their long-awaited new album Music Sounds Better With You, Sweden’s Acid House Kings precede the release of the LP with ‘Would You Say Stop’ – out now and available for free via Labrador Records’ website.
“If someone breaks my heart, I hope it’s you” – sings Julia Lannerheim over a chord progression reminiscent of Belle and Sebastian at their most vital. Littered with moments of absolute grace, the deft production that interweaves the strategically placed handclaps, castanets, shuffling drums and flute creates a sense of aural candy. The only thing you can do is keep on sucking.
Acid House Kings are self proclaimed pop perfectionsists and, with ‘Would You Say Stop’, who are we to argue?
