Portishead's Geoff Barrow in Twitter beef with Mayor of Bristol
For once it’s not Azealia Banks. No, this time the unlikely musician embroiled in an online spat is Portishead and Bristol’s very own Geoff Barrow, who recently found himself amid an argument with the city’s mayor, George Ferguson.
Barrow, also of the band Beak>, had been pressing the politician over plans for a new 12,000-seater Bristol Arena - raising questions over its benefit.
This led the musician to being blocked by Ferguson, reacting with the follow-up tweet: ”I wonder how many far more politically aware people than myself he has blocked? Poor George must be feeling the pressure….”
Mayor Ferguson eventually unblocked Barrow, later tweeting the following message:
Come off it Geoff @jetfury I just got bored of your grumpiness – but happy to meet up for a drink and a think sometime. Unblocked for now!

At the time of publishing, it’s not yet known whether Barrow has taken him up on the offer. Although it seems very unlikely.
