Pom Pom Squad cover Nada Surf's "Popular" with help from Matthew Caws
Pom Pom Squad have delivered a cover of Nada Surf's 1996 single "Popular" with the band's own Matthew Caws, and even filmed the video at the same high school.
"Popular" appeared on Nada Surf's 1996 debut album High/Low, and this afternoon (15 December) Pom Pom Squad have covered the track, complete with help from Nada Surf's own Matthew Caws, who joins lead vocalist Mia Berrin on vocals.
Pom Pom Squad's cover is also teamed with a Aysia Marotta-directed video, which was, according to Stereogum, filmed at the same high school as Nada Surf's original. In the new cover, Mia Berrin plays the mainn cheerleader, teacher and popular football player.
Their cover of the Nada Surf track marks Pom Pom Squad's first outing since releasing "Until It Stops" last month.
