Pom Poko announce digital talk show ahead of second album release
Pom Poko have announced a digital talk show event taking place a couple of days before the release of their second album Cheater.
Next week Pom Poko are due to release their second album Cheater via Bella Union, and to get people excited for the release the band have announced a digital talk show event.
The event will take place two days before Cheater is released, and is described in a press release as a "kind of talk show where Conan O’Brien/Letterman/Oprah meets The Muppet Show."
It is just 10 DAYS (!) until Cheater is released, and to celebrate the release, we’re inviting ALL of you to a special digital talkshow and concert on Jan. 13th!! We’ll be answering questions, playing tunes from the new album and having lots of fun over at vierlive <3 link in bio pic.twitter.com/4NVbSoQZUb

Pom Poko's talk show will run for approximately 30 minutes, and will see the band appear on the show as guests. The band will also perform tracks from Cheater, and some fans may recognise some Pom Poko characters from their Rockefeller Music Hall concert and their 2019 Øya Festival set.
So far Pom Poko have shared three tracks from Cheater - "Like A Lady", "My Candidacy" and "Andrew".
Discussing the differences between Cheater and their 2019 debut LP Birthday, vocalist Ragnhild Fangel says, "I think it’s very accurate to say that we wanted to embrace our extremes a bit more. In the production process I think we aimed more for some sort of contrast between the meticulously written and arranged songs and a more chaotic execution and recording, but also let ourselves explore the less frantic parts of the Pom Poko universe. I think both in the more extreme and painful way, and in the sweet and lovely way, this album is kind of amplified."
