The shortlist was selected by a jury of 213 music journalists, broadcasters and bloggers who selected their top 5 picks from the longlist. Eleven of these jury members will be selected to sit on the Grand Jury to select the winner at the Polaris Gala which happens at Toronto’s Masonic Temple on 19 September. The show will feature live performances by this year’s shortlist nominees and will be webcast live on MuchMusic.com
