Pixies, Wild Beasts, Super Furry Animals, and more to play 6 Music Live
BBC Radio's 6 Music Live has announced its lineup - with Pixies, Slow Club, Wild Beasts, Michael Kiwanuka, and Super Furry Animals among the names set to play.
On 3 October Pixies, Michael Kiwanuka, The Pretenders, Super Furry Animals, and Wild Beasts will play London's Maida Vale Studios between 7am-9pm.
10 October will feature performances from Slow Club, Kate Tempest, John Cooper Clarke with Hugh Cornwell, Jamie T, and Parquet Courts. Jamie T’s slot on Steve Lamacq’s will be prerecorded.
6 Music's Lauren Laverne says of the bill: “The 6 Music Live lineup represents the incredible range of music played on BBC Radio 6 Music every day - from the newer, emerging talents to more established and legendary names who’ve shaped the music we hear today.”
The station's controller Bob Shennan adds: “This year, 6 Music Live is bigger than ever before, taking place across two whole days with the performances at Maida Vale being filmed for BBC Red Button and the 6 Music website. Live music is at the heart of what we do with over 300 sessions each year on the station, more of which are now being filmed for our audience to view across the BBC’s digital platforms.”
