Pixies release second video for 'Bagboy'
Influential alt-rockers the Pixies sent fans into musical apoplectic shock last month when they dropped their first single and video since 2004 without Kim Deal and now the foursome are back with a second video for the same single created by Kestrel Media and inspired by a piece of art by Vaughan Oliver called Bagboy.
The new video, which made it’s debut via Rolling Stone today, features dark 3D illustrations of the artwork intertwined with old TV footage.
“We didn’t set out to have two music videos for ‘Bagboy,’ but once we saw both of these, we knew we didn’t want to use just one,” singer Black Francis tells Rolling Stone. “They’re so good, so creative, and each in its own way, and both made by up-and-coming filmmakers.”
Francis continued: “We didn’t set out to have two music videos for ‘Bagboy,’ but once we saw both of these, we knew we didn’t want to use just one. They’re so good, so creative, and each in its own way, and both made by up-and-coming filmmakers. … Who says you can’t have two videos for a song that show two completely different perspectives? Not us.”
