Pixies recruit former Zwan member Paz Lenchantin as new bassist
Following recent news that they’ve parted ways with Kim Shattuck, the Pixies have now announced Paz Lenchantin to be their replacement bassist.
Lenchantin is a former member of Billy Corgan’s Zwan and has also recorded with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Silver Jews, Jenny Lewis, A Perfect Circle and more.
“We are really looking forward to playing with her on these dates,” drummer Dave Lovering said of the announcement. “Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.”
Previous member Shattuck was the initial replacement for long-time bassist and singer Kim Deal, who left the group earlier this year.
The Pixies will headline the Sunday leg of next year’s Field Day festival, as well as appear at Primavera 2014.
