Much-loved podcast and Chicago public radio show This American Life recently recorded a stage adaptation of their show live in New York, featuring operatic singers, interpretive dancers, a Broadway musical and more. Among the other guests on the night were The Magnetic Fields’ Stephin Merritt and composer Philip Glass.
Glass (cousin to the show’s host Ira) was commissioned to write a piece based on the story of a woman getting trapped in a closet, whilst Merritt performed a song he penned about a segment of the show too.
