Pharrell countersues Will.I.Am over 'I Am' trademark
Last week, it was reported that Black Eyed Pea William Adams – aka will.i.am – had threatened Pharrell Williams with legal action for using his trademark phrase in new brand ‘i am OTHER’.
That’s right everyone, will.i.am had been declaring legal ownership over the phrase, ‘I am’. However, at the time, Will.i.am hit back at the claims and took to Twitter to say that he had ‘no plans’ to sue the Neptunes star.
Now it has emerged that to prevent any legal proceedings against him, the producer and N.E.R.D has turned the deck tables and filed a lawsuit on Monday asking a U.S. court to rule that he has not violated any trademark on the grounds that his use of the phrase serves an entirely different function.
According to TMZ, Pharrell argues that will.i.am is using “I Am” in a manner reminiscent of children’s author Dr Seuss; claiming that will.i.am’s use of the words is exactly like Green Eggs And Ham character Sam I Am. Ridiculously enough, Pharrell’s lawsuit actually contains the following:

Will.i.am is yet to respond or comment on Pharrell’s latest lawsuit.
