Love is in the air during Perfume Genius' End Of The Road set
There's no doubt about it: Mike Hadreas, better known as Perfume Genius, is the superstar everyone's been waiting for.
Drawing an end to a tour promoting recent album No Shape with a performance at End Of The Road, Perfume Genius was a sensation to behold.
Walking out on stage to the ethereal instrumentals of "Otherside", the moment the beat kicked in any hope of resistance was lost. Hadreas threw himself into every moment of the music, flexing and stretching his way through every song like it's what he was born to do - and you'd have been hard pressed to find anyone present who'd argue with that.
It's the newer songs that really shone bright: "Die 4 You" a heartwrenching ballad that captured even the sternest of hearts, and "No Shape" a goosebump inducing anthem that felt nothing short of euphoric.
Shouts of "I love you!" echoed across the crowd, and the adoration bundled up into the performance was evident everywhere. Assuring the audience that "I love you too" before ending with "Queen", it's moments like this that End Of The Road was made for.
