Perfume Genius announces debut London show
For those who enjoy albums of the emotionally jarring variety, you won’t go far wrong with the long awaited debut album from Mike Hadreas – aka Perfume Genius.
Recorded during a spell of self-imposed isolation at his mothers house in the suburbs, Learning is a staggering record – telling the tale of Hadreas’ inner angst and fraught emotion without ever coming across as crass or self-indulgent. Certainly one of the better debut albums we’ve heard this year, it would come as no suprise if this record ends up launching Hadreas into a Bon Iver-esque cross-over audience.
Next month will see Perfume Genius make his UK debut at London’s Hoxton Hall. Tickets for the event which is taking place on 13 July are on sale now priced at £8.50 and available here.
We first featured Perfume Genius on TLOBF back in February. Check out our Song Of The Day piece here.
