Paul McCartney's old English literature school book is going up for auction
An old English literature school book that belonged to Paul McCartney is due to go up for auction next week.
The book, which features markings and grades from his English teacher Alan Durband, will be auctioned by Omega Auctions as part of their The Beatles Collection: Memorabilia & Vinyl Records’ collection.
Durband taught McCartney at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys between 1959-60, when McCartney would've been 17-18 years old.
Omega has posted images of the contents of the book, which includes 22 pages of essays that legendary musician wrote on novels such as Thomas Hardy's The Return Of The Native and John Milton's Paradise Lost.
The auction company is expecting to sell it for a price between £4000-£6000, with a starting price of £3000.
