Pantha du Prince previews new LP with intriguing single "Pius in Tacet"
Pantha du Prince has shared "Pius in Tacet", the lead single from his forthcoming album Conference of Trees.
The Berlin producer originally announced Conference of Trees in 2018, and performed it as a live project.
Last Friday (7 February), Hendrik Weber, aka Pantha du Prince, shared the first single from the album, "Pius in Tacet".
The forthcoming album features contributions from Håkon Stene and Bendik Hovik Kjeldsberg - who contributed to Weber's last ensemble project The Bell Laboratory - as well as Manuel Chittka and jazz musician Friedrich Paravicini.
Conference of Trees was recorded with some wooden instruments that he made by hand. Weber said of the project in 2018, "With this project we want to give a new meaning to the forest and the trees in our immediate surroundings and emphasize its value and intelligence - without forests we would not exist as humans on this planet."
He said of the album in a press release, "Spending so much time in front of the computer and working with electronic machines started feeling a bit bleak to me. I wanted to find a way to spend more time outdoors and to legitimize it with art."
