Open Mike Eagle wins best Hip Hop / Grime video at inaugural Radar awards
LA-based and Chicago-raised rapper Open Mike Eagle took one of the major gongs at the first ever high profile music video awards celebrating new and under the radar talent.
There were more than 700 entries to the inaugural Radar music video awards, with almost half of the shortlisted videos having under 25,000 views. Radar help to connect labels and managers to up and coming music video creatives worldwide.
The video for Open Mike Eagle's "Celebrity Reduction Prayer" - directed by Ryan Calavano - explores social media and the culture of self-documentation. It was by far the most impressive video on the shortlist for Best Hip Hop / Grime video, which Best Fit co-judged along with a panel that also included FACT and Dummy. Watch the video below.
