Ohtis singer/songwriter Sam Swinson gives heartfelt dedication during End of the Road secret set
Alt. country trio Ohtis settled in at Best Fit’s Piano Stage for a warming roundup of essentials against the backdrop of a brief-but-intense cloudburst.
Though the heavens opened, crowds drew nearer as the band’s reflective, darkly humourous signature protected against the downpour. Before closing the set, Swinson prefaced final performance “Runnin” with a sincere dedication: “This song was written about Adam [Pressley] while I was in treatment,” referring to his recovery in rehab. “It’s about me wanting to be a better friend to him, and a better person.”
Addressing his bandmates, he said, “You’ve both been there for me for a long time. You are the two best friends I could ever have.”
