North London venue the O2 Academy Islington are to mark 10 years of being open by booking the first band that ever played their venue: Alkaline Trio.
The pop-punk outfit first opened the Academy’s doors on 19 September 2003 and will now return for a headline date on 29 August.
“To have been at the beginning of an era with O2Academy Islington was amazing,” said the band’s singer Matt Skiba. ”I remember that show being extra special and playing again for their 10th Anniversary is something we’re extremely proud to be a part of.”
