Aren’t these morning Newsround pieces fun! Something to read over your morning cuppa and toast…

First up, The Sadies have announced plans to release a new album via Yep Roc in May. Entitled Darker Circles, it’s the follow-up to their acclaimed last album New Seasons and sees guitarist brothers Dallas and Travis Good, drummer Mike Belitsky and bassist Sean Dean again pair with legendary Jayhawk and sought-after producer Gary Louris. The album was recorded in one marathon twelve day session at the ‘Bathhouse’ studio and five more at Toronto’s Woodshed.

On a less Americana note, David Holmes is set to release The Dogs Are Parading on 26th April, a best of that takes you on a journey through the last two decades of his output. It features, the now prerequiste new songs; The Girlfriend Experience, Your On Fire (Too Fat) and The Lower Orders. The band are also set to release a new album At Echo Lake in the UK on 17th May via Woodsist.

The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster are a band with plenty of fight and they’re back. Armed with a new album Blood and Fire, it’s travelled via Russia, rehab, personnel upheaval, scraps and the searing heat of unquenchable souls on fire (so it says here…). The album is due on the 17th May and the band will be playing at two festivals in that month; the Camden Crawl (May 2nd) and The Great Escape (May 13th) and have just announced a much anticipated London headline show at the Relentless Garage on June 3rd.
