New York playground to be renamed after late Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch
Fight for your right to party, kids, as a childrens playground in Brooklyn is set to be renamed in honour of late Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch.
The hip-hop star passed away at the age of 47 last May, but now the New York park formerly known as the ‘Palmetto Playground’ will be redubbed the ‘Adam Yauch Playground’ to mark one year of his death.
Adam Yauch Playground would be a much more fitting name since he actually hung out there, and it would be a great testament to a great leader and musician.
Council representative, Steve Levin said: “Adam Yauch Playground would be a much more fitting name since he actually hung out there, and it would be a great testament to a great leader and musician”.
It was also announced earlier this week that surviving Beastie Boys members Mike D and Ad-Rock are set to pen a book of memoirs for Faber Social.
